We Always Remember

15 Minutes
Easy
I wanted to create something special for Memorial Day to give us pause to remember the true meaning behind this holiday.
If you like straight lines, this project may not be for you. lol. I started by tearing red paper into strips. Yes, tearing them by hand. Next, I tore a square out of the blue paper. The size of the strips and square will depend on what size your finished project will be.
Using a star stamp and a white ink stamp pad, I quickly stamped stars onto the blue paper.
I dabbed craft glue on the ends of each red strip and glued it to an 11x14 canvas board. Then I glued the blue paper to one corner to make the flag.
Using a black ink stamp pad and alphabet stamps, I stamped on the words I wanted.

The red paper was longer than my canvas, so I just trimmed it with a scissors. Several months ago I picked up large sheets of sturdy paper for another project at Hobby Lobby and I had some leftover, which was perfect for this project. It can be found near the poster boards and is about the same texture and thickness of scrapbook paper.
I love how the torn paper gives the picture movement, as if the flag is blowing in the wind. This project took all of 15 minutes to put together, but it has a wonderful impact.
