XOXO Hugs And Kisses Sign

This is an inexpensive craft project using things from around the house. Colorful tape and metal washers make a great Love sign or XOXO sign for Valentine's Day.

I also used a piece of reclaimed wood for the sign base.

These tapes were hanging on the pegboard in our garage/shop. I don’t where the colorful tapes came from but I save everything and I buy fun things at the thrift store. You never know what will come in handy.

I started putting the project together using white buttons and found that they were too plain so I moved on to a different plan.

I finally went through my drawer of salvaged screws and metal pieces and found metal washers to work with. I used my glue gun to adhere the washers to the wood and I made X’s with the tape.

I decided to use the fuchsia and orange tapes to make the X's. I didn't measure the pieces. I just cut short pieces and stuck them to the wood.

One end of the reclaimed wood already had a couple of holes and I threaded a piece of thin wire into the hole to make a hanger. I used my favorite drill to make a small hole in the opposite end and threaded the wire through it.

Maybe you could help your grandkids make a similar project! You don’t even need any tools. The little sign is so light you could hot glue ribbon to the back of the wood sign to use as a hanger instead of the wire. And….you don’t even need hot glue. Regular glue would work just fine.
