DIY Personalized Koozies Using Heat Transfer Vinyl

I have come to appreciate koozies (can coolers). Maybe it's the fun sayings that fashion them or the various colors that hug my beverage of choice, whatever it is it can add a little bit of flair to a drink.

So since it's close to Christmas I decided to personalize my own koozies with some fun holiday sayings. These make great, easy and cheap gifts, but make sure to save some for yourself.

Here are the supplies. I used a white and a glitter HTV.

Start out by creating an image for your koozie. If you would like to use my images come visit me at the link below.

I created the stencil with my Silhouette Cameo using HTV. Make sure to place the shiny side of the vinyl face down on the cutting mat and cut the graphic in reverse.

The stencils/vinyl is now ready for heat. Position the stencil on the koozie and place a thin fabric over the stencil (I used a t-shirt). Set the iron on the fabric and hold there for 10 - 20 seconds.

Remove the transfer paper and the stencil should be set in place on the koozie. If not place the transfer paper back and repeat for several more seconds.

With the "Naughty is the New Nice" graphic you will need to do this in two parts if you use different colored vinyl like I did. I positioned the "Naughty is the New" stencil on the koozie, ironed it, removed the backing, positioned "nice", ironed, removed the "nice" backing then one final iron to set everything.

Now add your favorite beverage.

The possibilities are endless for any holiday, birthday or event you want to make these for.

If are looking for another Christmas craft then you will love these stenciled Christmas towels. Also, to deck out your holiday table try these DIY Napkin rings. They have fun sayings on them made from stencils.
