DIY Wood Peg Magnets

Strong magnets are great and something that just about everyone uses. What sometimes is not great, is how hard they are to remove from the surface they are stuck to. We made some strong magnets that are easy to grab and remove and we love them! Here's how you can make some for yourself.
I cut 1/2 inch wood pegs from a dowel rod. Rub the cut ends on a piece of sand paper to clean up the edges. The dowel rod I used was one I had on hand and it was 1-1/2 cm in width.
I used white spray paint to paint the magnets I picked up at Walmart.
I painted just the tops of the wood pegs I made with a white gloss craft paint.
I then used a rose gold craft paint to paint various designs on the top of the white I had previously painted.
I then hot glued the wood pegs to the strong magnets. Above is a picture of some of the supplies I used. The great thing about these magnets are as I said, they are so easy to grab and move. On the fun side, you can decorate them any way you want to match your own decor - washi tape? I had some in my picture, but decided in the end not to use it.
We love our new magnets that have a little bit of a modern flair. Grab the kids or grandkids and have fun with this project!
