Stamping your own cards is a wonderful way to give a personal touch to your heartfelt sentiments. Whether you want to honor a birthday, celebrate a special holiday, or just say 'thinking of you', using some simple techniques makes cardmaking easy.

Start by gathering up neutral color cardstock, a pretty stamp and your ink pads.

For this flower, individually ink the flower in purple and the leaf in green. Then, stamp the card front.

Using two tones of purple gives the flower a bit of pizazz.

Next, cut a piece of vellum to go over the front, and adhere to the top of the card on the inside, folding it over the top so the attachment point isn't visible on the front. This will soften the image.

Next, add a butterfly sticker on the vellum.

Then, stamp your sentiment on the lower right on the vellum. This can be anything you want, from "Thinking of You" to "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Mother's Day". Inside, print out a poem from your computer, or hand write a personal message.

Lastly, put a coordinating stamp on the envelope to complete the project. See more card making ideas on my blog, From My Carolina Home stamping fun.
