I lLove Christmas! Stockings are an exciting time for my family after all the presents are opened then we pass out stockings. Each family member always has their very own stocking. This year year I decided about 4 weeks before Christmas, I wanted everyone to have their own personalized stocking. Whew! I would have to work fast. I decided to use stocking kits. I ordered two kits last Christmas. I needed seven in all. So I started with those, while I waited on the other orders to arrive.
Completed stockings for all
I opened the first kit and followed some of the written directions. Each kit came with everything needed to complete the pictured stocking. The kit called for sewing and stuffing, but I did not want to sew or stuff, so I used fabric glue to attach the pieces. Since some pieces are meant to be stuffed, they will have an extra piece. You will not need but one piece unless you are going to follow the directions and use stuffing.
Ready, set, get started
The first kit had paper patterns. This required cutting twice for each piece, once to cut out the pattern and again to cut the felt pieces. It was the most time consuming stocking. Actually two of the kits had paper patterns. Ugh...don’t like all of the cutting out...
Sharp scissors needed
First, I cut out each piece and pinned it in place on the stocking. I followed the same process for each stocking.
I kept the pattern pieces and wrote their names on the back, in case I needed them later.
After I pinned the pieces on the front of the stockings, I began gluing the pieces.
Used fabric glue
For some pieces, I cut out my own design to cover some of the white sewing lines. I also went over some lines with a black Sharpie.
Love me some glitter!
I used glitter glue to add sparkle to each stocking.
This was the hardest stocking to make. All stockings were 18”, except this one. So I cut out a new top and glued it to the bottom half of the stocking. This one had lots of pieces too.
Personalized each stocking
I used a monogramming machine to add names.
Sew it up
Finally I used a sewing machine to sew both sides together. Stockings are finished! Seven in all...yea me!

The stockings were hung!
The only ones without personalized stockings are my husband and me. My children have had their stockings since they were very young. They too are handmade.
Stockings hanging on the stocking tree. As I stated in the beginning, this is a good time to buy the stocking kits at a reduced price and bonus you will have almost a year to complete them.
Made with love 💕
I used iron-on fusion to place this label on the back of each of my grand -baby’s stocking.
