Trying to live a more sustainable life doesn’t have to mean giving up on something! These DIY Christmas crackers are made from fabric. You can reuse them year after year by filling them up with new gifts.

Find the detailed step-by-step here!

All you need to start is some cream-colored fabric.

Cut four (or as many as you need crackers) 5 3/4 by 11 3/4″ (14.5 x 30cm) pieces in the fabric. These will fit standard toilet roll tubes.

Fold both short edges of the fabric piece to create 1/4″ (0.5cm) seams and sew with a straight stitch.

Now, fold the fabric on the long side, making sure that the fabric’s right side is facing in, and sew a 1/4″ (0.5cm) seam to create a fabric tube.

Pull the fabric tube inside out and insert the toilet roll into the fabric tube.

Finally, fill your crackers, tie them shut with a thin metallic cord, and voila!
