Recycle & Re-use to Make New Wreath
My granddaughter is working on hers this week. I gave her a simple canvas with Happy Mother's Day written on it. She just did a Happy Anniversary one for her aunt. She draws any and everything and paints the designs, always signing her name at the bottom. For the anniversary one she drew lattice and flowers. Canvas boards are super cheap at places like Walmart, and regular paint works well, too. Learn from my mistakes in the past, and be sure to expect a mess so you have a safe place (and protected clothes) so you can just turn them loose. Sometimes, I sketch a simple shape if she asks me to, to get her started. In the past, we did a silhouette picture for her mom, made painted rocks (ladybugs and bumblebees), and decorated old picture frames with paint and bling.
What about a bunch of button flowers.
You need florist wire, fine and thick, not sure of sizes. You would also need florist tape and a variety of colourful buttons.
First take a few buttons layer them up with largest at the back, use the fine wire to fix together, push through one hole in each button layer, then bend wire and go through each remaining hole as it is layered. Twist at underneath. Take the thick wire, bend a hook shape, put through the twisted wire, squeeze together and cover with floral tape.
Continue until you have a bunch.
There are lots of fun photo gifts to make here! Good luck!
