I like recycling as much as I can. When I have medium to large gifts to wrap, no boxes and paper for me. I use paper shopping or grocery bags.
I select bags with handles. Turn them inside out, gently as they may rip.
The seams will be on the outside, so I simply use packing tape to secure them. Same goes for any small tare.
You can iron them if you don’t like the wrinkles, but I like the rustic look. Choose some paint and brush it onto the front.
Let it dry and use a secondary color of paint to decorate. You can also use glue and glitter for whatever design you like. Not an artist, dip a cookie cutter in glue then stamp on and paint when dry or sprinkle when wet with glitter.
My girls are grown up, so they get their initials.
Some sisal rope, an old hoodie string and a crochet flower, tissue paper and you are done. Try this for a kids birthday party. Let them use some creativity and energy. Or paint a bag for their trick or treating. Unique for sure. Takes just a small amount of time, but you do have to wait for the paint to dry.
