Coaster and Earring Tree Ornament 3

Turn a seagrass coaster and some accessories into a tree ornament.

I should have known that there was a reason why these coasters were on sale. They are too uneven to balance a glass on. I actually saw a guest doing the mental arithmetic between ticking me off by not using the coaster and the odds of having her red wine dripping all over the table. The coasters had to go.

I also had some of these hair slides which I bought on a previous trip to a clothing store, together with some earrings that I turned into unusual tree ornaments in an attempt to decorate a Christmas tree from scratch whilst on vacation. You can find the other ornaments I made on my Hometalk profile.

And some more earrings.

Once you have the items the rest is easy. Clip the hair comb together and add some hot glue.

Stick it to the perimeter of the coaster. Use scissors or a spoon to press it down otherwise you are going to get burned.

Remove the butterfly from the earring and add some glue. Then stick the earring to the centre of the coaster. The pin sticks right into the seagrass.

Finally, thread a ribbon through one of the fins...

The back is nice and rustic but you could also decorate it.

I wouldn't have guessed that the gold circumference was from one hair band. How clever! I thought they were individual pins, and I was perplexed as to how you got them glued on so evenly.........

That would definitely have been too much meticulous work for me.😝
