Design Your Own Pen and Ink Wood Slice Ornaments

Create your own unique ornaments with a bit of art and nature. Wood slices make a great base for showcasing your own art. Grab a black permanent ink pen and just start doodling. You can create fabulous keepsakes in no time!
Hand drawn pen and ink ornaments by Jen Goode
These wood slices were cut from a tree that we had to remove from my own yard. However, I've seen a number of online venues that sell wood slices. Check out etsy for a variety of shops carrying wood slices in an array of sizes.
You need a wood slice & permanent pen
You can use different colors of ink pens if you'd like, I prefer the black on wood look.

Once you've created your art piece, use a sealer to prevent the ink from bleeding or smearing. Finally, add an eye screw and tie a ribbon so you can hang your ornament.

These ornaments would make cute gift tags that your friends can enjoy as a special keepsake too!
If you don't love your own drawing skills or style, I also have a printable of this art available to print and use. Instead of drawing your own art, you can decoupage the designs I've created, on to your own wood slices. Super simple!

LOVE these! I think my drawing skills would definitely require the printables ;D, but I'm trying this nonetheless!
