DIY Ornament for Music Lovers
If you are looking for an easy DIY ornament, this one is the ticket. You can make it in about 10 minutes. If you want other ideas for DIY gifts, take a look at these custom gift boxes you can make.
The steps to make this are simple. First, trace the outside of an embroidery hoop with a pencil onto some sheet paper. I used the smallest embroidery hoop I found, about 3 inches. You can make it as big or small as you like.
Inside the circle, you can put an initial, a musical instrument or a music note. I decided to draw a treble clef in pencil. Then use a paint pen to fill in your music note.
Next step is to cut out the circle. Use your paint pen to darken some parts of the musical note, so it looks a little more like calligraphy. I filled in the longest curve that sweeps down.
The last step is to press the paper into the embroidery hoop. To hang it on the tree string your favorite ribbon into the top of the embroidery hoop.
I hope you like this. If you are looking for more DIY ornaments, read this post.

Have a question about this project?
These are wonderfully simple and lovely. I am confused about how the paper is held in the hoop. You said "press the paper into the hoop", but what is holding it in the hoop? Did you separate the hoops and put them over the paper, like you would fabric? Thanks for any help.
