Easy Cardboard Flower Ornament

When I purchased a bunch of blackout fabric, it came on a big thick tube. It seemed like a waste to throw it out, so here's what I did!

I cut the tube into a bunch of pieces that were 3/4" wide. You could probably use a handsaw, but I used a miter saw.

Then I grabbed a thick hardback book, and flattened the circle with the book.

This made a nice petal shape.

Once I had five petals, I glued them together. I used binder clips to hold everything steady while the glue dried.

I spray painted a couple at this point, but I actually liked the cardboard better, so that's what I went with. It's worth experimenting to see what you like best!

Once I tied some twine to the flower for hanging, it was done! I love how it turned out, and it was super easy to make! If you like it too, or think you might make your own, take a look at the full blog post!

Cute!! My kids made flower art out of toilet paper rolls for the grandmothers for Mother's Day. They had so much fun repurposing (and for 2020 it was perfect). This would be an awesome craft! Great idea! 😁

Very cute! I love the country look. You could also put a sprig of faux foliage and a tiny pinecone or some faux holly berries. Keeping this one in my plan book for sure!
