I am always looking for ideas or crafts to do with my grandsons and on this one , one peeled the paper while another grated the crayon or chose colors and broke pieces and they were proud of their creations even though Memaw had to run the dryer and hold the glass with pliers it gets very hot.
This is the finished project! Lots of fun.
The clear glass balls came from hobby lobby but you could probably find them at any craft store.
After choosing the right colors (you don’t want to choose colors that together make a color or you will end up muddy,) you can either grind up your amount of crayon you want or put that chunk inside the bulb after removing the hook.
most of them involved two or more colors but you could do one if desired. It just gives it more of a marbleized look if you have several.
- I used my hair dryer on high, holding the bulb mouth in a pair of pliers lightly and rotating while the heated crayon melts.
This was just two colors but it turned out beautiful.
this was a tri-colored one.
This was a tri-colored one and it turned out nice.
Some were better than others.
This was the product I used for balls. Make sure you get glass!
This was the only one I did with the fingernail polish in water and rolling it trick but it was pretty sticky at first.
I tried to move this to the order it went but😝
Enjoyed the project?
