Add some sparkle to your holiday season with these glitter snowflakes ornaments. Here is how to make them!

Are you expecting a white Christmas? We’re enjoying warm weather here in Iowa with days in the 50’s and no white stuff in the forecast. While that means we likely won’t get a white Christmas, it does mean that we will have warm enough weather to play outside during winter break so I’ll gladly take it!

If you’re feeling crafty and in the mood for snow, we have a fun and easy Christmas craft for your family to make together. These Glitter Snowflakes Ornaments are an easy and fun way to add a bit of fun and sparkle to your tree. Here is how to make them!

Glitter Snowflake Ornaments

The exact amount of supplies you will need will depend on how many ornaments you want to make. These are easy to make in groups, so make several at a time for your own tree or to give as gifts! You’ll need 3 craft (or popsicle) sticks per ornament as well as the items below.

Supplies:

  • 3 Craft sticks (per ornament)
  • White paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Tacky glue
  • White glitter
  • 6-inch piece of thin white ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Paper or mat

To make your snowflake ornaments, lay your paper or mat down to catch all of your messes. Paint each side of the craft sticks and let dry.

Next, out some tacky glue in the center of one of the craft sticks. Assemble the snowflake by layering another craft stick on top of that to make a narrow “x”. Put a dot of glue in the middle of the top craft stick, and situate the third craft stick on top to take the shape of a snowflake.

Put one drop of glue in the center of the top craft stick, and 3 dots of glue each below and above that.

Place 3 dots of glue across each of the other craft sticks.

Sprinkle glitter generously on top of the craft sticks that are dotted with glue.

Once glue and glitter are dry, attach the ribbon to the back of the snowflake.
