Wanna make a fun keepsake ornament without spending a lot of money? You can make these for just pennies!

I'm not a painter. I don't have any talent, but my friend asked me to make these ornaments with her and I'm not one to ever turn down time with a friend. So i said, OK!

It's not as hard as you might think and you only need a few things. Clothespins, which are super inexpensive, a few colors of acrylic paint, some brushes, and a few sharpie markers. You can also use a small piece of ribbon and a hot glue gun to make a hanger. You might already have all of these things on hand.

Once you decide what superhero you're into for the ornaments, grab the colors of paint for that character. Most superheros are red white and blue so if you're on a budget, choose Captain America, Wonder Woman, Superman and characters that are already those colors and you can make more than one with the same paint.

Next thing you need to do is look at the characters and see the blocks of color they have. I can't paint, but wonder woman has boots that are half white and half red, so I can easily paint the bottom half of her legs white and then when the paint dries, color the other half red with a sharpie. Easy peasy. Same with her body, make a shape with red paint, let it dry, paint a white belt on and a yellow or gold W, and you have the main shapes. Next, add some blue shorts and use a sharpie to make the ws. You might be able to do a better job than I did, but I think they are cute anyway. They are super personal. Wonder woman is my favorite!

Make sure you have covered your working surface before you begin. Once you finish decorating, let the ornaments dry and come back and put a dab of hot glue on the back of each one. Loop your ribbon and put the ends in the glue, voila!
