Clothespin Snowflake Ornament

These clothespin snowflakes are all over Pinterest right now. One day I came across one of Stephanie Lynn's from Under the table and Dreaming. Hers turned out beautiful and I was hooked. I had to make some too! {More details on our blog along with more pictures of others I made too!}
Here's my version. I decided to do my "paper-crafter's" version on the center of it. So fun and easy too!
First of all, remove the springs from eight clothespins. You can use as many pins as you like, but this is what I used on mine.
Next you'll glue each of the two pieces of the pin together. I used Aleen's Quick Dry Tacky Glue for this part. Just a little goes a long way.
To glue all the pins together, I used my hot glue gun on the low setting. Take four of your sets and match up the flat pieces of the pins like you see above.
Next, add four more pins in between the pins you just glued together like you see above. Again, use the flat parts for a guideline for gluing.
I was learning as I went and I found on the second one I did to add the little hang string in between one of the two pieces of a pin. Just add a little tacky glue, lay your string in the center and then press the other piece on, holding with a clothespin until dry.
I just used a bunch of stuff I had in my stash to decorate the centers. That old sheet music paper is from a really vintage hymnal book page. I found the old book at a yard sale and the poor thing was attacked by mice on the back, but I intentionally bought it to use in my paper crafting. It's very delicate stuff and whew, hard to work with.
This would be such a fun craft to do as a family and such a nice gift to give someone too!
I hope you try these for yourself. They are very easy to create and really don't cost that much either. Christmas is such a fun time of year! What are you making for Christmas this year? I'd love to see.
