How to Make a Easy Rag Star Ornament

This diy star ornament is a great way to get rid of some scrap fabric. All you need is some wire, fabric scraps, and a star shape to form your wire star.

You could form your star by hand, but for me it was easier to use this rustic metal star to form my wire star.

Start off by bending the wire around your star object following the bends and curves until you go all the way around. Leave a two inch tail.

Take the two inch tail of wire and wrap it around the other end to hold the star form.

Leave about four inches of your fabric strip loose to hang your star by. Then start wrapping your fabric strip around the wire. To find out how to add to your strips making them one long continuous strip hop on over to my blog.

Continue wrapping until the wire is completely covered and your back where you started. Secure with a knot and leave a tail to connect with other loose tail by tying knot at the end to form a loop for hanging. Add a bow and that's all there is to the rag star ornament.
