How to Make Easy DIY Christmas Ornaments From an Old Sweater

I have been on a major rustic kick lately. I’m loving anything upcycled, reimagined, and full of charm. You can find rustic style Christmas decorations at just about any store you walk into, but those prices! In my normal fashion, I decided I could do it myself {I’m much like a 3-year-old in that way} and came up with these DIY Rustic Christmas ornaments.
Start out with your old sweater. I didn’t have a cable knit sweater in the color I wanted, so I went to Goodwill and bought a couple for just a few bucks a piece.
Next, wrap the cut piece around your ornament, bunching the ends up at the top.
Pull the sweater snug against the ornament.
Using your twine, wrap it around the top and tie a knot. Wrap the twine around the top a few more times and then tie off a loop to hang it from the tree.
You can also make these ornaments with the sleeves of your sweater. Just cut off the sleeve, giving yourself enough fabric to cover your ornament. You will have to tie off both ends with the twine and can trim off excess fabric as needed and tie a loop just like the first one.
If you are looking for some quick and easy rustic Christmas craft ideas, these DIY rustic Christmas ornaments should be on your to-do list. They take minutes to make, but add so much dimension to your tree!
