Hey all! Christmas decor has arrived to the stores! :D You'll find these at Kirkland's this year, but why pay $4.00 when you can make them for pennies! (Yep, pennies!) Here's how!

All you'll need is some twine, vinyl words (which you can pick up from your craft or dollar store), a bit of paint and some wood.

You'll also need some basic DIY tools to make 'em.

You'll start by painting the long wood block (mine was 6.5" long) in the color of your choice. I did a set of 3- red, vintage white, and a brown stain- and they all look great!

Then once the paint is dry, grab your sander and sand around the edges of the block to give the wood a lightly distressed look. (adds to the adorable vintage vibe)

The next step is to wrap the twine around the edges of the block (as a way to hang the block). Wrap it twice around one end, and then staple it down so it is secure.

Staple right thought the top of the 2 strings and making sure good and tight.

Then leave about 4" and wrap the other side leaving a loop at top to hang. Pull tight and staple again!

Once the twine is adhered and secure, grab your vinyl lettering and apply it the middle section of the wood block.

After you've got your lettering situated, add the clothespin to the top- I found these cute ones at the Dollar Tree.

Now it's all ready to hang!

All you gotta do is clip it to a tree branch!

They are super easy to make and are very farmhouse rustic- perfect for the holiday season!

I did these 4 sets using Merry, Grace, Ho Ho Ho and Believe but you could use any words or even personalize with family names. Happy Holiday's!

Such a great way to save and specialize your own. I can see them hanging off a cabinet knob in the kitchen or on a dinner table for guests to take home after celebrating. Maybe even as Christmas package tags! I need to look for the vinyl lettering. Thanks for sharing!
