Over the years my kiddos have collected many things. One of the toys that they collected loads of is Hot Wheels. I decided to Make a Christmas Tree Ornament With Hot Wheels to use a few of them and get them on the tree. They make an adorable and festive addition while creating fabulous conversations and stories from years gone by. The bottle brush trees are so cute but the red and white bakers twine from Hemptique really makes these ornaments pop. I can’t wait to show you how easy it is to make them.

The truth is that these darling decorated cars and trucks are also great for pretend and play!

Directions for Christmas Tree Ornament With Hot Wheels

These are truly so simple and fun to make. They come together in a few easy steps and create darling Christmas ornaments to last for years. The same process can be used on Hot Wheels cars as well as any other little toy cars you might have around the house. Let’s make some.

Step One

Use E6000 glue to adhere a bottle brush tree to the roof of a toy car. The ones I have seen driving down the street usually seem to have the trunk facing the back but I think it looks cute either way.

Step Two

Once the glue is dry, wrap the twine around the car a couple of times and tie it in a bow on the top.

Step Three

Trim the twine to the desired length. Isn’t the tree so stinking adorable on the bus. Wouldn’t this be a great gift for bus driver. You can either make a hanger out of the twine or use a hook hanger to make the ornament work in a tree.

Alternate Idea

We found these super adorable deer ornaments at the store and had to have them. While working on this project, they were on the table and I decided to glue one to this Hot Wheels vehicle. I added the bakers twine around the neck to create a bow and I LOVE it. Isn’t this the cutest little ornament ever?

I am thinking it would be super cool to glue plastic dinosaurs to trucks and cars and add bows with bakers twine.
