We love just about everything from Kate Spade, including her gorgeous Christmas ornaments. However, we're not big fans of the price tag that accompanies these holiday decorations.

So we decided to create our own knockoff version of the Kate Spade ornament for our Christmas tree. This is an easy project that you can complete in just under an hour (plus drying time!)
The first thing we did was buy a large pack of clear ornaments from the craft store. Then we took that plain ornament and spray painted it white. Make sure you cover the entire thing (which can be tricky since it's round!) You may have to do multiple light coats to get it all covered.
Then we used painter's tape to tape off the bottom. This ensured that it stayed white, while we spray painted the top portion black.
To hide where the two colors meet in the middle, we used some sparkly gold ribbon that we found at the craft store.
We repeated this same technique using lots of various colors like green, blue, and pink! You can also create some of the iconic Kate Spade ornaments with black and white dots and words (more on how to do that in our blog post).

Happy decorating this holiday season! For the full instructions for this project check out this step-by-step blog post.
