In January of this year my family's lives were shattered by the unexpected and tragic passing of my older brother. My mom is dreading our first Christmas without him and I wanted to make her something special for her tree this year to honour and remember him. I found the perfect ornament to use for this special project.

So here is the ornament I found at my Dollar Tree store.

Taking a picture of my brother I cut it into a small oval shape.

Next I took some self adhesive laminating sheets I had. You can purchase from any Dollar store.

I gently pulled the laminating paper apart and pressed the back of the picture on to the sticky side.

Once picture is secure fold over the other side of the laminating paper and press firmly around the picture. This will be the non sticky side. Once sealed take a pair of scissors and cut around picture leaving some space.

So here is my picture cut out.

I purchased these pearl bead stickers from my Dollar store.

Taking one row I wrapped it around one side of my laminated picture. Pressed to secure. Repeated on the other side. You can cut off any excess.

Here is my picture with the pearl bead stickers around it.

Next step was to use my glue gun to attach photo to the ornament. Once I determined placement of my photo I put two dabs of glue on the sides of the back of the photo. Then pressed in place.

Here is my ornament complete. It will have a special place on our tree this year.

I made some of these last year for Christmas gifts. Some had my Mom's picture, a couple I did for my son-in-law and his Mom. I did one of my niece fir my brother. They all were greatly appreciated and hung on their trees, except my brother put the one I made of his daughter on her urn.
