Mason Jar Lid Ornaments

If you're like me you might have a bunch of metal Mason jar lids lying around in your drawer without a purpose. My baby food making days are over so I wanted to find a use for these lids instead of just tossing them! Enter DIY Christmas ornaments!

I have so many of these lids, many getting rusty, just laying around waiting to be revamped. I decided to make 3 different types of Christmas ornaments but after playing around with them I've realized the possibilities are endless so this is a project you can really customize to your taste and style.

For the first one I wrapped twine tightly around the entire thing. This actually took a little longer than I thought but it was worth the few minutes. 😊

I tied the two end together nice and tight so the twine wouldn't loosen up at all. Now it's time to decorate it!

I added a cute little bow but you can add whatever you'd like. Also, these would make great wreaths for doll houses!

For the next one I started by spray painting the two pieces a pretty copper.

Then I added a piece of gift wrap with spray adhesive to the top side of the metal insert. You could also use modpodge for this step.

You could also add a family photo!

Next I punched a hole in one of my larger jar rings and added a mini ornament. I secured the twine with hot glue.

You can punch or drill small holes into the rings and add twine to hang them or simply secure the twine with hot glue. This is also a wonderful holiday project to work on with your kids!
