Mod Podge Photo Ornaments

I adore photo ornaments, but they can get pricey. I decided to make my own this year as part of the ornament blog hop. It's really very simple and a great way to preserve special memories. ornaments decor craft

I love how they turned out. I may go back and add ribbon the the top.

You will need Mod Podge, scrapbook paper, glitter, photo copy of photo, scissors and paper mache ornaments.

Print your picture with your at home printer on regular paper, not card stock. The size will depend on the size of your ornament. Cut out the craft paper using the ornament to trace. Find a smaller circular object to trace the photo so that a border of the decorative paper will show.

Apply with Mod Podge per instructions on container.

I also applied glitter to the edges.

I carried the glitter to the back. You could use a pretty gold Sharpie to write a note about the photo on the back like the date.

These are my babies back in October when we went apple picking.

I have a question about applying the Mod Podge to the photo. When you applied the Mod Podge to the photo, did the ink smear at all? I have seen so many crafts using copies on regular paper and worry that it would smear at the first swipe of the paintbrush/spongebrush. I LOVE this idea, it would make such an amazing gift to a family with one ornament for each family member and one with the entire family. (Of course getting photos would mean you are with them enough to already have photos you could use, or you have to play "facebook photo thief" and include an apology for your "thieving ways" with your gift. At which I don't think the recipient would mind one bit.
