I went to the Dollar Tree and purchased the clear bulbs and white pails. Sand, gravel is still in stock. Clear Elmers glue. I had little shells and a seahorse button from a left over fairy garden this Spring. You can find buttons and shells at Hobby Lobby.
I glued them together. E6000.
Added sand, then some blue gravel. I poured clear glue inside and only to the top of the materials, set aside to dry.
The next day, everything was dried. The sand and gravel does not move. I added shells and a seahorse. Added more glue on top-just enough to hold the seahorse up. Allowed it to stand alone for a few hours. (Use something thin like a toothpick or pencil to move around the shells and seahorse before adding the glue.) Elmer's Clear.
Afterwards, I started to use jute twine to cover the top of the ornament, then the pail. I decorated with more shells and buttons. Painted a little on the shells to give it color.
Hotglue twine and shells.
The pails come in a three pk and bulbs a two pack-this idea is very cheap and unique, too. Give them away, or even use them in a bathroom for table decor if you have a beach theme. Simple, fun, cheap. The Elmer's glue acts like resin. It will hold your things inside the globe. Resin is expensive and stinks. Kid friendly project!
