Woodland Elf Christmas Ornament

When I'm walking my dog in the woods I often see items from nature that inspire a craft project. When I recently picked up an acorn, Hemlock pine cone, and a stick, I used them to craft this sweet Woodland Elf Christmas Ornament.
For this project I needed items from nature (acorn, pine cone, stick), felt, glue and cording to use to hang it.
Gathering the supplies took just minutes. Not pictured here is my trusty glue gun that I find handy for most any craft project.
I started by gluing the Hemlock pine cone to the acorn. A Sharpie was used to draw a face on the acorn. I then cut a scarf shape from gray felt and glued it into place.
I then cut three pieces from the branch that I carried home with my miter saw. A regular saw would work but we keep the miter saw out and handy, so I used it. I then glued the sticks together and glued the "elf" to the sticks.
Fire pieces were then cut from the red, orange, and yellow felt and glued into place. The final step was to add a hanger.

I have lots more Christmas projects on my blog if you'd care to visit!
