This is a fun springtime favor idea. Using products like tissue paper and seed kits from the Dollar Store, along with other ingredients like candy, you can make a party favor that replicates a flower pot in full bloom.

I started this project by heading to the Dollar Store and purchasing several of these seed starting kits.

I also purchase some tissue paper from the Dollar Store and made multi-colors tissue paper flowers by layering the paper and folding it accordion style. Tie with pipe cleaner in the middle of accordion fold. Make sure to round off the edges of the ends of the folds to create the "petal ends".

As you separate and fluff the individual papers, the "flower" emerges. It looks like a fiesta! If you do not like this look, you can use a single color of tissue paper for a single colored flower.

To create the center of the flower I used tulle and some jelly beans.

Place 9-12 jelly beans in the center of a square of tulle and then tie everything into a bunch with string. Make sure not to cut the string too short. You will need the tendrils for the next step.

Next, with the excess string tie the center of the flower in the middle of the tissue flower. A natural center has been made by the pipe cleaner. Tie the jelly bean center around the pipe cleaner area. I used a double knot here. This will create the finished flower.

Next, simply tape the "flower" to the top of the seed kits making sure to use adequate tape to totally secure the flower.

The next steps are optional. If you would like, put the "flower pot" in a cellophane baggie and throw a few loose candies in for good measure. I used caramel creams and Hershey Kisses.

Tie the baggie with a matching colored ribbon and you are done. They are ready for the party! These favors would be fun for Easter, Mother's Day, May Day or any springtime party.
