Hi Sharon, there are many various ways to make table runners as unique as you wish. You can use gift wrap paper cut into specific width and length, you could use netting or tulle that comes in very wide widths, you could use paper (available in rolls at an office supply store). You might even consider using a roll(s) of deco mesh so popular right now in crafting. It comes in various widths and is easy to work with, or burlap, just depends on what scheme you are envisioning. Then add any decorations you want scattered along the runner. I'm sure many more Hometalkers will chime in.
