Cork Cat Toy
These cork cat toys for indoor cats are a perfect toy to encourage your kitty to be more active. Make one for your cat today.
These cork cat toys are easy to make in only a few minutes. But, your kitties will get hours of fun from this simple cat toy DIY. You need only a few simple materials that you probably have in your craft drawer right now.
Cork is not toxic but it should not be swallowed. Your cat should never be left unsupervised with any toy that has small parts that they can eat. Even a piece of aluminum foil or a small googly eye can cause problems if your cat decides to eat it. Supervision is key.
If you want your cork cat toys to smell like catnip, simply boil fresh catnip in water for a few minutes while steaming the cork in a colander above it. Let the cork soak up the scent. Then, allow the cork to dry completely before continuing with the project.
You will need to drill a hole in the cork very carefully. Then add glue to the center of the hole and add the feathers. Allow it to dry completely before letting your cat play with it.

It's a cute idea to re-purpose all those wine corks we have sitting in a drawer but except for the occasional feather I might find outside, don't plan on buying any. Our cat has a myriad of toys, squeakers, feathery things etc but does he play with them - NO. He plays with a door stop - go figure.
