Fur Baby Water Station
Abby likes very looooong walks. On hot days I worry she might need a drink so I carry water for us. Luckily one of our local businesses has a dog drink station. That’s where I got this idea. We live at a beach community on a road that has many dog walkers. I think their fur babies will like and appreciate this trash to treasure project.
I started with a plate charger that I picked up at a yard sale. It’s been sitting in my stash for quite some time. I cut a piece of scrap wood into four legs.
E6000 is my all time favorite glue. I used glue to easily add legs.
You can always find really cheap bowls at thrift shops. That’s where I found this nice heavyweight bowl. Of course just about any bowl or dog dish will work. The other piece was a roadside rescue. It came from a broken white rocker. I only needed to wash it up. No need to paint!
Our tourist town’s logo is “Nice Matters”. I used my silhouette machine to design and cut out the vinyl lettering. This was such an easy project. Next I simply had to set everything up on the side of the road. I used a concrete paver for the base.
I added flowers to each side to give this project more curb side appeal.
We had several days of heavy rainfall. The legs did not hold up very well so I removed them and placed the charger plate directly on the paver. This actually works better for shorter and smaller puppies! I added the flags for Memorial Day weekend. I think I’m going to leave the flags up all summer long. Let me know if you have any questions. I love this! We leave water out year round in the yard (
electric bowl in winter) and cat food on the porch, but never made anything cute like this. I especially love the flags!
