Baby socks -- they outgrown they so quickly, always seem to be missing a pair, and to be honest -- they hardly ever wear them anyway!

I decided to use my son's old mismatched baby socks to make some super simple DIY cat toys.

In this tutorial I will show you how to make cat toys using baby socks. These homemade cat toys are easy to make and perfect for using at home or donating at animal shelters for the cats to enjoy.

Now I will warn you, I didn't get fancy here. I kept the cat toys very simple.

I will let you in on a little secret — cats don't care how pretty their toys look!

Start by gathering your supplies for this easy DIY.

1. Tear the paper into smaller pieces and crumble it up a bit.

2. Stuff each baby sock with the crumpled up paper until it is about 2/3 of the way full.

3. Tie the end of the sock closed with a piece of string, and trim the ends so nothing is hanging.

That is IT!

Super simple, and the kitties love them.

I've done this with my own socks for my cat. I dumped about a tablespoon of dried catnip in with the paper, and after closing it, cut the rest of the sock fabric into strips about 1/4 inch wide.
