SUPPLIES

NOTE ABOUT HOOKS: The hook shown was purchased at Hobby Lobby. It’s used upside down from how it would normally be used. Whatever hook you use must have some type of loop that allows for you to hang your bell on and make sure it sticks out far enough to not hinder the bell. We link to one that will work on Amazon over on the official post.

One bell about 2″ in size Liberty Bells We purchased ours at Hobby Lobby. You can also use a large jingle bell or 2″ cow bell.

A small wood plaque aprox. 3x5

Paint for plaque. We used Krylon Seaglass Satin.

A hook that has the correct layout.

Command Strips to hold it

Silver split ring or ribbon to hold the bell onto the hook.

Ring bell for service printable (ON OUR SITE)

Gather the few supplies needed.

Spray paint your hook and wood.

Attach the hook upside down on the top of the plaque.

Add our free printable if desired.

We taught Barnaby, a full grown pug, to use the bell in 3 days. Our new puppy Oliver learned how in 7 days while we were housebreaking him.

Do you remember the single jingle bell necklaces sold around Christmas? Hang it on your door knob to the outside - I have used the same jingle bell for over 20 years, for many dogs. It's cheap, only a dollar at the dollar store during the holidays. (Of course it's not as cute as yous)

We did this too, just hung a cowbell around the back door knob With a zip tie, nothing fancy. That was 14 years ago and 6 Dobermans later We still have the same bell. But for a small dog, that looks great.
