How do I make a cheap dog-proof litter box?
I need to make a cheap but effective dog proof litter box or litter box cover accessible to only my cat. The most obvious option I can think of is wood. But I like "thinking outside the box", & want to consider other unconventional materials, & ideas. Thanks.

Hi Paula. I have a cardboard box over the litter box. I cut a little door for the cat. Too small for the dog. Why are dogs so interested in the litter box? That's so gross, right? Good luck.
Hi Paula, sorry you are having a problem keeping your dog out of the litter box. You are not alone. Put your litter box in a clear plastic container with a kitty door on one end. Your cat can do its business and your dog will stay out. Good luck
IF your cat is not comfortable using an enclosed box, put in a separate room ( even a closet ) and install a baby gate that the cat can jump over but the dog won't .. or a baby gate with a 'kitty door' built in ... and never put the food / water in close proximity to the litter box ...

You can use a large tub with lid. Put the lid on the floor, Put litter box on it, place tub over the box and press down to clamp it. Cut about a 5 inch hole in the end of the tub, just big enough for kitty and then reach in to push box to the far end of the tub. Dog may get his head in but still can't reach the box. It's easy to clean for the pet owner.
