Where are the cabinets? I'd try hanging sheets of tinfoil for awhile, I know my cats hate the sound of flimsy tinfoil. (but love it all crinkled up in a ball) or secure it the same way you would for toddlers.
Magnets or the child proofing hardware. The magnets work well and I have used those. I have a lazy susan cabinet and my cats love to go under it. I used to have a Bengal kitty that would get into a bathroom cabinet and sleep on the towels. Where does a cat sit-------anywhere it wants to! :)
if you have knobs rubberband the 2 doors together.
You can buy little hooks that fit inside the cabinet doors in the kids department to keep children from opening the doors. I would believe they would work for your cats and not show.
