They make dog treats that are specially made to get rid of plaque buildup and prevent bad breath
There is a product called Odoban that works great. It cleans and deodorizers. It works great on laundry and pet carpet/floor stains also :)
I give my dogs Greenies but you should try to brush their teeth, it does help :)

My daughter's Swiss mountain dog had terrible breath. No amount of treats or brushing took care of the problem. They took her to the vet to have her teeth professionally cleaned. She ended up having 8 teeth pulled. They were rotten and probably causing Lexi to have much discomfort. It took care of the problem immediately. I suggest a visit to the Vet.
