Sew two large bed pillows together, then make a large pillow case out of material of you choice, that way you can remove it and wash it over and over. Hope , this helps.
if the dog is a great dane...a crib mattress comes to mind. for smaller dogs thrift store zippered fabric pillow protector and put ceder chips in for stuffing.
I use different sized pillows for dog beds, and wash the covers with the rest of my laundry.
