Our cat box happens to be on the screened patio... but we put it under a bench (5 cats.. coyotes.. don't mix) we put a cat door into a window for them to access when the doors are closed... Do you have an outdoor space where you could give your cat access and put the cat box (Google search: Catio select images of a catio... for examples of what I mean.. our niece did this on her travel trailer) a covered wire crate would work to hold the litter box.
Pinterest.com may also give you some ideas of special end tables etc. that could be constructed (they are available commercially... just a matter of cost) to suit your needs... note: they cannot be a dark hole... or the kitty may not use them... but frosted plexiglas or perforated metal sheets could be used on one end or back side.
Easier than you think! Here you go! Guarantee you will find something cool for your kitty. 🐱

Get a small cabinet, use a jig saw to cut a hole in the side panel for kitty to enter and exit, paint interior dark so you can't see what's in there. It needs to be tall enough for kitty to use. Use a hole saw to drill some large holes in the back panel to aerate.
Put a Big box over it and cut a gap for cat to get in.
I have seen photos of what Sharon (Florence, OR) is describing and it is a genius idea. The cabinet DEPTH was made just the WIDTH of the litter pan with doors on the front of it (so the pan can be removed for cleaning) then a large enough hole was cut at the side to allow the cat access. The hole wasn't really that noticeable as the top of the cabinet was accessorized with a bowl or vase and a few books or whatever you like. From the front, it just looked like a nice piece of furniture - it was the height of a normal side table and looked very elegant!
