Yes! Just unwind what is on the post now. Measure. Head over to your hardware store or home improvement store and purchase more (take a piece with you so you know what size to buy), now just wind it around the post. Use glue at the top and hold it in place with a nail which you can remove when glue is dry and do the same at the bottom.Helpful Reply -

We've replaced it. Our Home Depot didn't have natural rope so we found some at Hobby Lobby.Helpful Reply -

Found sisal rope at Harbour Freight. Just take the old stuff off and wrap the new stuff on. Found using a hammer to squish down the rope about every fourth time you wrap it around helps a lot.Helpful Reply -

Having made many!!! Cat trees, i prefer using industrial strength staples rather than glue...a staple gun is a necessity ...and attach on the under/back side of the post...removal to replace is much easier than using glue...and they hold better. Hammer down the corners and it will fit betterHelpful Reply -

Replaced two worn out carpeted scratching posts with sisal rope from the hardware store and my hot glue gun. They are holding up well.Helpful Reply -
