Give new purpose to an unused embroidery hoop and create a pretty Boho-inspired spring wreath for your front door!

I know creating a wreath from an embroidery hoop is nothing new to some. But, if you're like me, you either never got around to making one when they were SUPER popular, or, maybe you just didn't like the style at the time. It's also very possible that you didn't have an embroidery hoop lying around in your craft stash. Like I did. For several years actually.

So when I was challenged this week with creating something for spring using a repurposed item, I finally had the chance to create my very own Embroidery Hoop wreath. It was also my chance to put my own spin on it, and give it a little boho style which I'm totally loving right now.

What you'll need:

  • Embroidery Hoop (I just used the outer circle)
  • Faux Flowers
  • Faux greenery
  • Floral wire
  • Glue Gun
  • Beads
  • Craft wire
  • Wire cutter

To start I wanted to lay down my base using some greenery. I chose these eucalyptus stems. They came in a big bunch so I used my wire cutter and cut them off the main base. Then I attached them individually, with the floral wire.

When I had the look I wanted, it was time to add some flowers.

TIP: If you prefer to change out your flowers or re-use the embroidery hoop, I would recommend attaching the flowers with the floral wire, as I did with the greenery. Since I plan on keeping this wreath I chose to use my glue gun to attach the flowers.

To attach the flowers I simply 'popped' the flower off the stems and placed a bead of glue at the top and the bottom of each flower. Then I gently pressed them into place.

Believe it or not, I found these GORGEOUS pink roses at the Dollar Tree! They had them last year too and I scooped up as many as I could! I've used them in several projects and they hold up very well.

Once all of the flowers had been attached I filled in with a few leaves that I had saved from another project.

To put my own 'spin' on the wreath, I decided to create a fun beaded hanger to hang the wreath from. I did this by first placing some flexible craft wire into the holes at the top of the hoop. Then I placed four beads on either side of the wire. Then I bent the ends of the wire to hold the beads in place. To cover where the wiring came together, I added one more bead at the top and glued it into place.

And Viola! I now have a pretty Boho-Style spring wreath to hang on our front door. Even better it didn't cost me anything to make!
