A Simple Guide to a Fall Mantel Display

There’s no question fall is my favorite season. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good cardigan? The beautiful colors of the leaves are glorious, and the slight nip in the air makes a good excuse to nestle by the fireside and indulge in hot cider and a good book.

With fall right around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to share some fall mantel decor tips I use when created a fall mantel display.
The basic concept is to keep things simple and create an aura of familial autumnal fun without overdoing it. You can start this by beginning with the colors of the season, including neutral oranges, reds, yellows and browns. Also, because fall starts with falling leaves, a leave garland is the perfect touch to your fall mantel.
Of course, when you think of fall decor, pumpkins and gourds come to mind. I mix and match neutral pumpkins and gourds and use them to frame the mantel creating a balanced look. You can also bring the outside in and use pinecones mixed in with your pumpkins and gourds.
I also like to incorporate vintage pieces with an antique or rustic flair. These remind me of fall. An old clock can capture this look nicely, of course making sure the colors of these elements match the season of fall as well.
