A Winter Snowflake DIY

My first diy of the year. Of course it had to be snowflakes. I have wanted to create some that were a little different, because as you know no snowflake is the same. These ones definitely are not. But I am really liking them on my mantel tucked into my greenery. They will stay here until I start getting some Valentines Day ideas flowing through this little brain of mine.

Fort these snowflakes you buy clothespins from the dollar store. Take them apart and glue the two pieces together without the metal clasp on them (that is the piece that you are taking off).

I just started arranging mine in a circular pattern until I liked what I saw. I did add two layers to each snowflake. But each one if different in number. I used my glue gun to glue the pieces together. It worked best if you glue from the tops and sides.

I did my first layer and then began to work on my second layer.

I wanted to cover up the hole on the top so I added some wooden snowflakes to some and pom poms to others.

My favorites are the ones I added seven to the bottom layer and five to the top layer. I really just played around with them until I liked the pattern.

Then I decided to stain them all, I was not precise I just added stain here and there to them.

I am going to do some with white paint on them to and sand the edges to distress them. I really like them they are something different and you know by now I like that for my decorating. They would be so pretty with the tips dipped in gold too. There are all kinds of ways to do them. Just like real snowflakes all different.

Have a wonderful day and God Bless!!
