Once fall rolls around, I think it's pretty much a given that you'll either hear about or gravitate to the taste and aroma of that irresistible Pumpkin Spice anything!

So I decided to use this theme as a new fall sign... but with a twist...

Grabbing an old wooden window frame without the glass and a few cedar strips, here's the decadent results...

I love making signs for any season, and in this case, let's decorate for fall!

But let's make it easy. An empty wooden vintage window frame provides a great shortcut to frame a sign!

However the inside needed something since the window was without glass. Price efficient cedar strips proved to be the perfect choice!

The cedar strips were cut down to the window's width, then painted in black.

With the window facing good-side-down, the painted cedar strips were positioned inside the window ledge good-side-down, then attached.

There are many ways to attach the cedar strips, however be sure to visit my original blog post linked below to check out an easy and unique way that didn't require any fancy tools!

Next up was positioning this PUMPKIN SPICE STENCIL from HERE.

I mean, what a perfect fit!

How to stencil to create super sharp images:

  1. Position stencil with masking tape.
  2. Dip stencil brush into paint.
  3. Wipe most paint off onto a cloth to create a dry-brush feel.
  4. Tap or swirl paint through the stencil for desired effect.

Pumpkin Spice was stenciled in an orange tone, with the rest in a soft white.

But here's a fun tip! Leaving the stencil in place, black paint was flicked onto the top of the orange words to create a texture that resembled pumpkin filling! YUM!

But one more sign detail was desired!

Grabbing this FALL GREETINGS STENCIL from HERE, mini fall sayings were stenciled onto cedar strips that will come in handy to chime in with larger fall decorating projects!

And here how I used one of them...

Welcome to the Pumpkin Spice coffee bar! How would you like me to spice yours up?

A little vintage cart was the perfect place to stash a few faux pumpkins to really get that fall look!

The window provided the perfect frame to add a few screws as hooks to hang a few coffee mugs! Decorative rustic hooks would also work well.

And did you notice the flavour of the day? Pumpkin Express it is, thanks to the little mini sign addition!

All I know is, now I want a real pumpkin spice latte so that stop is officially on my to-do list!
