If you love DIY Fall Decor you will love learning how to create these simply stunning Color Wrapped Wheat Shafts. This crafting project is easy to make and perfect for a beautiful decor element to your home. Once you see how easy it is to make, you’ll want one for every room in your home too!
A few months ago, I made this beautiful Wheat Harvest Bundle when I was inspired by a Fall Wheat Bundle Centerpiece I saw for sale on Wayfair – I was so inspired by the beauty of wheat decor I had to try my hand at it again.

This Color Wrapped Wheat makes the perfect DIY Fall Decor project! I can’t wait to set my Thanksgiving table with it as the centerpiece.

You will only need three things to create this simply stunning centerpiece!

Embroidery Thread – go crazy and pick a bunch of vibrant colors!
A Bundle of  Dried Wheat Stalks
Scissors
Glass Vase
Decorative Vase Filler – or whatever Fall Filler you can find.

When choosing your thread,  you’ll want to be sure to add some colors that pop! I choose some browns and oranges to work with my Fall Decor.

I wrapped at least two wheat stalks at a time – you can decide how many you want to bundle together. I also trimmed some of mine to create varying lengths of wheat – you can either leave them all tall or trim some of them depending on the look you desire.
Tie a knot around the wheat to fasten it to the shaft – then slowly start to wrap the embroidery thread around the wheat shaft. I used about 2 inches of thread for each wheat shaft.
When you reach the bottom, take the thread and push it up between the two stalks. Cut the thread and leave a short piece. I used a wooden stick to push the leftover thread up and under the thread to hide and secure it.
And that’s it! Now, make a bunch and use some decorative vase filler for the bottom of your vase!
This Color Wrapped Wheat DIY Fall Decor project will look beautiful anywhere in your home.
You can also use the stalks as a decorative table element too.
I also mixed two colors of embroidery thread for some of the stalks too – I love the pops of colors! And I love how the shorter wheat stalks pop through the center of the vase.
I hope you get to enjoy making one too! It’s perfect for a DIY Fall Decor project.
