This is a simple, no fuss, easy to recreate DIY. I promise you. This fall centerpiece meets all those qualities.

You can do this. We can do it together. Ours won’t be identical, but they will both be gorgeous. You will create a vintage inspired DIY Fall Centerpiece you will be proud to have in your home.

Collect The Items You Will Need for Your Centerpiece

What You Need:
  • vintage pottery – or container of choice
  • floral foam
  • glue gun
  • 3 focal flowers – hydrangea and 3 fall colored peonies
  • faux fall colored leaves
  • curly willow stems – or any small branches
  • fall filler – 1 stem with several branches
  • small velvet pumpkins (stem to take apart)

Hot Glue Floral Foam In Place

I used only a very small amount of hot glue to hold the floral foam in place. The floral arrangement will not be very tall, so a little glue is all that’s needed to secure the flowers.

Place the Thriller Hydrangea and Fall Colored Peonies

I love using hydrangeas in fall floral arrangements. There are gorgeous faux hydrangeas out there to purchase, if you're not lucky enough to cut them from your yard for drying. Place them in the arrangement first, creating the frame work, or outline. I also found some pastel peonies to add. There colors work so well with my vintage dishware. (You'll have to check out my kitchen posts on the blog.)

Place Filler Foliage Where Needed

Faux maple leaves, curly willow branches, and dried statice picks were all placed in the arrangement in this phase. I just packed them all in and around the large focal hydrangeas and peonies as you can see here. I used 3 large maple leaves, 3 statice picks, and 3 curly willow sticks. ( You will see a couple of surprise "filler" pieces in the final arrangement.

Finish Off the Centerpiece with Dramatic Spiller

This southern girls loves spiller! I always use it in floral arrangements both inside and outside. It puts me in the mind of moss draped trees in the south. Here, I used some golden rod colored silver dollars.

The Finished Centerpiece

I had all of these items on hand. As you’ve noticed through the years, I re-use a lot of my stems from year to year. I rarely make any permanent arrangements. Change is my middle name, right next to Nell! Stop by the blog to see this in my fall kitchen.
