DIY Fall Welcome Sign From an Old Rake

See how my guest blogger made a DIY Welcome Sign from a 4 dollar old rake! All you need are some flowers from the craft store, ribbon, and a little bravery to try a wood burning tool!
This project requires wood burning tools, but is otherwise easy and adds a great fall touch to your front porch, or anywhere in your house! Start with any rake, an old one works best as it has the most charm, and weave your flowers through the spokes or in front of the spokes, whatever you prefer. Tie the stems from the flowers with a ribbon to secure.
Once your flowers are secure, you can get to the wood burning. You can pick up a wood burning tool at any craft store. I recommend practicing on some scrap wood first. For the letters, use any stenciled letters and tape them onto the rake handle. We used welcome on this rake, but yours can say whatever youd like! If you dont have stencil letters, you can bring out the letters from your printer and trace them onto the rake handle with a pencil. See how beautiful it looks beside this buffet? It would look great anywhere that you want to add a fall touch to!
Beside the wood burning tool, all you need is some ribbon and fall colored flowers or leaves! You wouldn't even need to burn the welcome letters into it if you didn't want to, which would make this even simpler! For a full tutorial with more details, please check out the original blog post!.
