I took my pencil and scribbled on the back of the lady bug pattern and traced it out on to the Christmas board.
To cut the lady bug out I used a jigsaw, to remove the Christmas print from the board I used my hand sander. I drilled one hole on the left side of the lady bug to run a wire through to attach the lady bug to the wreath.
I drew the details for the lady bug on the board.
Painted the lady bug red and black with black polka dots and white highlights.
Since the lady bug will be outside I applied two coats of brush on sealer.
Now I have a cute lady bug for my wreath, I am using the grapevine wreath I always use to decorate our front door.
I placed two pipe cleaners in the drilled holes to attach the lady bug to the wreath.
For this wreath I will be using three Dollar Tree floral bundles, fiscus leaves, spider plant, poppies and bellflowers. I will be using leaves from my Fiscus tree as well. I have been using those a lot in my wreaths since I revamped my tree.
I placed the fiscus branches all around the lady bug, sticking the stems into the wreath.
Cutting the spider plant into separate pieces, placing them into the wreath .
Adding the two bundles of flowers, cutting them off the bundle as well.
I made a loop bow with three types of ribbon, red polka dots, black stripes and a red gingham.
I think my DIY lady bug looks adorable on the wreath, don’t you?
Now to hang it up on our front door.

So adorable. But, I have a question. If, such a thing is available, wouldn't it be easier to but a wooden plaque in the shape of a large Christmas bulb? Just an idea. I still love this wreath. You are an artist. Lovely work.
