DIY Modern Floral Wreath

I’m quite the fan of wreaths. In fact, I have often said that I have many more wreaths than doors. What I love most about them is that they are an easy way to spruce up one’s decor for the various seasons/holidays. I have wreaths for Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Valentine’s Day. I also have a summer wreath, spring wreath and fall wreath. I told you I have a thing for wreaths!

Today I’ll be showing you how to make a super simple wreath using just a handful of supplies. You may even have these in the house already. The faux flowers I used for this project are from Michael’s. My bundle of flowers was on sale for $5 on that day, but they are normally around $10. The flowers are not something you should skimp out on. In other words, skip the dollar store for faux flowers (for this project, at least). Since the flowers are the star of this show, it’s best to get ones that really look great. Luckily, the rest of the supplies are affordable and easy to find.

You can even order most of the supplies online. Start by gathering the supplies you’ll need:

embroidery hoop
faux greenery- take from the faux flowers stems, if possible
real greenery- take some clippings from the yard (read notes in blog)
faux flowers
hot glue

I picked up the real greenery from the various shrubs in our yard. I simply clipped a bunch of random branches and brought them inside. I started by placing some of the real greenery right on the embroidery hoop with some hot glue. Place the greenery on one side of the hoop with a few inches between them. I have found that by incorporating some real greenery, the whole wreath looks better and more sophisticated.
