Y’all I’m so excited to be using my plaster faux leaves for another project. This is how to make easy DIY Plate Chargers by adding the Plaster Fall Leaf project that I shared earlier. By updating thrift store chargers with Copper Spray Paint and Plaster Faux Leaves, you have a unique and creative table setting for fall.

You may choose to paint your leaves and chargers any color that appeals to you. I think Antique Brass would also be beautiful.

Supplies for DIY Plate Chargers

  • Plate Chargers – These are usually easy to find in thrift stores and consignment shops, however link here for some similar to mine.
  • Copper Spray Paint
  • Plaster Leaves – See instruction here.

Hot Glue Gun & Glue

First, you need plate chargers. I found these last year at a consignment shop for $4.00. They were red, but I quickly painted them with Copper Paint. Therefore, my chargers are ready to add the faux leaves.

You may choose to paint your leaves Gold or Antique Brass and in that case, you will want your chargers to be the same color as the leaves.

Add Fall Leaves

Next, you will want to arrange your leaves on the plate chargers to get an idea of how many are needed and what design is to your liking.

Once you like the design, remove the leaves but place them around the edges so you know the placement.

Begin adding hot glue to the back side of each leaf.

Then, press the individual leaves onto the plate charger, making sure that it attaches securely.

NOTE: If you read Fall Craft – Plaster Leaves DIY, you will notice that one mistake I made was not painting the back sides of the original leaves. Be sure to paint both sides before adding to your projects.

The texture and colors are perfect for a fall tablescape.

I added some of my thrifted fall dishes to the DIY Plate Chargers and love how the fall leaf design works with dishes I already own.

You can add an extra fall leaf, to each plate center, for another fun fall look.

I hope you enjoyed all the tutorials using Plaster Leaves. Be sure to see DIY Fall Leaf Wreath and Falling Leaf tutorial here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
