I love the farmhouse style of wood pallets but wanted to soften the look to create a door decoration for the spring season. This wood pallet welcome wreath with it's circle of blooms was the perfect look for my front door!

The materials for this project are pretty simple. I used a round wood pallet (though you could use a wood picture frame or grapevine wreath instead), a whole bunch of artificial flowers, and a decorative element for the center of wreath (I used a wooden welcome slogan). I also used some acrylic paint to decorate my round pallet. You can find the complete list of materials on my blog.

First, I painted my wood pallet a medium gray color. While that dried, I also painted my wood "hello" saying. Then I let both pieces dry completely.

(Optional) I wanted to add some additional decoration to my wood pallet to fill in the space above and below my welcome slogan. First, I found a plastic lid that was smaller than my pallet. Using a pencil, I then traced the curve of my lid on the top two slats of my round pallet and the bottom two slats.

I used these curved lines as a guide to paint some vine leaves and flowers on the front of my pallet. You can find all the steps for this process on my blog.

While my paint dried, I separated my bunches of flowers and trimmed the stems down to just a couple of inches. I kept all my leaves to fill in any gaps or spaces between my flowers.

I spent some time thinking about the arrangement of my flowers around my wood pallet. I decided to use some fuller white blooms in the front of my arrangement, then fill in with other flowers, and use taller blooms toward to back to add color and interest.

Working with my pallet face down, I began to glue my flowers to the back surface of my pallet so they showed around the front edge (see photo above).

I attached the flowers that I wanted to show in the front of my arrangement first. I spread my flowers around by placing them at the three, six, nine, and twelve o'clock positions (see photo above). Then I began to fill in between these blooms.

I checked my arrangement occasionally from the front to make sure my flowers were symmetrical and even.

I kept gluing flowers around my pallet to create my arrangement. I attached the longer or taller blooms toward the back so they showed above my other flowers. Then I added some leaves at the end to fill any gaps or spaces between any of the flowers.

The last step was adding my cheerful "hello" design element!

I love how this charming wreath welcomes friends and visitors to my home!

Cute and can personalize to suit your taste. Still trying to figure out what plastic lid has to do with anything. Any round shaped will work, dinner plate pot lid etc so size is unlimited too. Who writes these “headlines”?

I often wonder who writes these "headlines". More often than not they have nothing to do with the article! Frustrating, to say the least!
